19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and recurring reactions on court had prompted commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to create a decider.
The opponent defended four early chances in a competitive third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
